Rock singer Sawyer Hill halted his North American concerts following a fatal bus collision near Denver. The decision pauses performances across the country so band members and crew can focus on healing. Hill shared the update on social media on Wednesday.

The vehicle ran off the side of the road and flipped in the middle of the night on Oct. 14. Hill said the driver died in the incident. Multiple band and crew members suffered injuries near the Colorado-Wyoming border.

The group played at the Bluebird Theatre in Denver on Tuesday, Oct. 13. They had scheduled a concert in Salt Lake City for that Wednesday.

“I’ve determined there is not a viable path forward to continue shows on the current Everybody’s Home, Nobody’s Happy tour in North America.. and that the focus and priority for my band and crew should be on processing and healing,” Hill wrote.

Joey Weisenritter worked with the band during the run. He addressed the incident on his social media business account on Tuesday.

“We were told repeatedly by the professionals who helped us following the crash that it’s a miracle the 9 of us who were in the back are alive and that our injuries are not far worse,I only have a fractured rib and some mild bruising,” Weisenritter said on his business account. “I’m extremely thankful to be here.”

The band is currently preparing a plan to reschedule the missed appearances. The group had another show scheduled in Los Angeles on Thursday, according to their tour website.

Hill stated purchased tickets and VIP passes will remain valid for newly announced dates. Customers can also obtain refunds at their point of purchase. Hill added, “My heart is broken, I’m sorry guys.”

Fans posted supportive comments online following canceled stops in Salt Lake City and Seattle. Supporter comments included “SALT LAKE IS GONNA MISS YOU” and “seattle will miss you sawyer. prayers to everyone.”

Commercial vehicle collisions often involve local highway patrols and safety investigators to inspect vehicle mechanics and driving conditions. Responders coordinate emergency care and clear roadway lanes at crash scenes.

Hill was also scheduled to perform in Denver and at George’s Majestic Lounge in downtown Fayetteville on Oct. 30. That date was part of the affected tour run.
