LaTracy Bizzell remembered her son Davin Chance Bizzell-Holmes three years after his fatal shooting in Little Rock. Her remarks come as court proceedings continue against multiple people arrested in the homicide.

Bizzell-Holmes was 15 years old when someone shot and killed him inside a car. Bizzell said she still visits her son’s grave site frequently.

“I come out here maybe a couple of times a week,” Bizzell said.

Bizzell explained that the loss still feels recent despite the time that has passed. It was heartbreaking.

“Three years, but it seems like it was just three minutes ago,” Bizzell said. “Getting that phone call, um, into the crime scene, seeing my baby slumped over in their car, not being able to get to Davin, that was, that was heartbreaking.”

Her son would have turned 18 years old this year. She reflected on what his future might have looked like.

“I think he would probably be at a D1 school playing college football,” Bizzell said.

Bizzell noted that Bizzell-Holmes was her only child. She lamented the milestones she will now miss.

“I’ll never see him grow up. I’ll never see him become a man,” Bizzell said.

Bizzell detailed where her pursuit of justice stands in the court system. Seven individuals were arrested in connection with the homicide.

“Seven individuals was arrested in connection with my son’s homicide, and the last person, he’s set to go to jury trial in January of 2027,” Bizzell said.

Little Rock court proceedings can involve separate trial schedules for codefendants charged in a single investigation. Cases often take years to reach final jury trials.

“I just miss holding Davin. I miss the hugs,” Bizzell said.
