Kenon Smith arrested in fatal 2023 Pine Bluff double shooting

Kenon Smith faces murder charges in Pine Bluff following his arrest in Little Rock, police announced. The action links two suspects to a deadly 2023 incident that harmed four people. Officers served murder warrants to Smith, 24, and 22-year-old Quentine Lowe.

Pine Bluff Police Department officials said officers arrested Smith on Monday. The arrest occurred during the execution of a search warrant. Lowe was already in custody for unrelated charges, according to police.

Officials said Lowe was previously arrested in 2023 in connection with the shooting. In 2023, authorities also arrested then-21-year-old Kavon Bledsoe in connection with the case.

The incident happened on March 7, 2023. Pine Bluff police responded to reports of shots fired at Sunset Village Apartments at 2611 W. 34th Street. Officers arrived just before 9 p.m. on Tuesday.

Officers found 18-year-old Ashrray Thomas and 16-year-old Julian Tolbert dead inside a car. Another injured person was also inside the vehicle. Authorities later found a fourth victim with gunshot wounds at Heritage Manor Apartments.

Police departments serve arrest warrants when formal charges are filed. Investigators continue gathering evidence after making arrests. Suspects then appear before a judge for initial hearings.

The Pine Bluff Police Department continues to investigate the fatal shooting.
