Pat Walker started his broadcast duties in Ward, Arkansas with the local storm forecasting group. The veteran weather anchor covers regular weekday morning forecasts and midday news reports across regional television channels.

Walker joined the group in March 2013. He appears weekday mornings on Fox 16 Good Day and KARK 4 Today. He also reports midday weather during Arkansas Today at noon on KARK.

Walker grew up in the local Ward area. He graduated from Cabot High School. He then earned a Bachelor of Arts in History from UCA in Conway.

Walker worked various jobs for five years. That work included youth pastoring. He then studied meteorology at Mississippi State. He graduated with a Master of Science in Geosciences.

At Mississippi State, he met his wife, Kim. She is also a meteorologist. The couple has three children.

Walker did not plan on this career as a boy. Severe state weather changed his mind. He remembers knee-high snow days from his childhood. Tornado outbreaks on March 1, 1997, and January 21, 1999, made lasting impressions.

He spent stormy days in his family storm cellar. Most severe thunderstorm warnings sent him underground.

Walker worked in Columbus, Mississippi, and San Angelo, Texas. He also took broadcast roles in Lawton, Oklahoma, and Davenport, Iowa. The Razorback fan now lives in his home state. He loves the area.

Broadcast meteorologists present severe storm alerts, daily temperatures and radar updates to local television viewers. They monitor rapid changes in regional atmosphere systems to prepare the public.

Walker holds the Broadcaster Seal of Approval from the National Weather Association. He won Weather Broadcast of the Year from the Oklahoma Broadcaster’s Association. He attends Fellowship Bible Church in Little Rock with his family. Viewers can follow updates at https://twitter.com/patwalkerwx.
