Jay-Z heavily favored to headline Super Bowl halftime show
Odds favor Jay-Z to perform at Super Bowl LXI in Los Angeles as prediction markets surge. A formal announcement from event organizers has not yet been released. The shift followed an early Tuesday report from Puck. The outlet cited multiple unnamed sources reporting Jay-Z selected himself.
Odds posted at Kalshi and Polymarket leaned heavily toward him as of Tuesday morning. The market at Kalshi viewed him as having about a 91% chance. The odds were even greater on Polymarket.
Jay-Z is the founder of Roc Nation. The entertainment company has chosen the act since 2020. The firm also co-produces the concert event.
Users at both prediction markets also listed other performers with smaller chances:
- Miley Cyrus
- Beyonce
- Harry Styles
- Post Malone
- Dua Lipa
Prediction markets like Kalshi and Polymarket prohibit insider trading. The NFL has not officially confirmed next year’s performer.
Jay-Z has never headlined the concert. The event takes place in Feb. 2027.
Headliners in Los Angeles are generally revealed several months before the game in September. Kendrick Lamar headlined Super Bowl LIX in 2025. Officials announced him on Sept. 8, 2024.
Bad Bunny headlined Super Bowl LX in 2026. Organizers formally announced his selection on Sept. 28, 2025.
“It’s a decision that Jay makes,” event co-producer Jesse Collins told Variety in 2014. “Since we’ve been on board with that show, he’s made it every year, and it’s been amazing. He’s always picked right!”
Prediction platforms allow people to trade contracts based on the outcomes of future events. Companies use these exchange systems to measure public consensus. Halftime productions involve partnerships between sports leagues and entertainment agencies.
The league is expected to make an official statement soon regarding the Los Angeles event.
