Zachary Nehus charged with 100 child pornography counts in Hot Springs
Zachary Nehus faces 100 child pornography counts filed in Hot Springs on Monday, court records show. Each felony count carries a potential sentence of up to 30 years in state prison.
Court records show Nehus faces charges of pandering or possessing visual or print medium depicting sexually explicit conduct involving a child. This charge matches his 2015 arrest. Nehus has not made an initial court appearance, according to Garland County court records.
Authorities arrested him in April 2025 for a probation violation tied to an earlier case. That violation stemmed from a 2015 conviction involving 30 counts of child pornography. Dr. Stephanie Nehus stepped down from her role at Hot Springs School District in May 2025.
Under Arkansas law, this specific offense is classified as a class C felony. State statutes set prison terms between three and 30 years for each count. Each felony count also carries a potential fine of up to $10,000.
Garland County Detention Center records show Nehus is not currently detained in Hot Springs. He was 52 at the time.
