Kyle Kennedy died at her Massachusetts home last month at age 42, according to her obituary. The disability advocate was a granddaughter of Robert F. Kennedy and Ethel Kennedy. Her cause of death has not been disclosed.

Kennedy died Sept. 21. Her death came six years after a severe spinal cord injury. That injury left her with long-term paralysis.

She became an advocate for people living with disabilities. Kennedy testified at the Massachusetts State House. She spoke during a hearing on discrimination against people with disabilities in healthcare.

Her obituary said she also advocated for equitable elementary education and charter schooling. She was passionate about this work.

Kennedy has two sons with her former husband, Liam Kerr. She leaves behind her family.

The Massachusetts State House serves as the seat of government for the commonwealth. State legislative committees hold public hearings there on proposed laws and healthcare policy.

According to Page Six, the couple married in 2012. Taylor Swift and Conor Kennedy attended the ceremony.
