Two Arrested in Stockton After Deputies Find a Stolen Truck, Drugs and Guns
San Joaquin County sheriff’s deputies arrested Peter Zile, 60, and Lisa Hall, 47, in Stockton on Thursday after following a stolen Ford F-350 to a home in the Weston Ranch neighborhood. A search of the house turned up the stolen truck, 16,000 fentanyl pills and other illegal drugs, $288,142 in cash, 14 firearms and roughly 100 pounds of fireworks.
The pair face felony charges for vehicle theft and possession of controlled substances to sell, plus weapons charges that include possession or transportation of a machine gun, according to the prosecutor’s office. Combined bail was set at $1.25 million.
“The amount of drugs, cash, and firearms uncovered during this investigation is alarming,” District Attorney Ron Freitas said. Zile and Hall appeared in court on Monday for arraignment — where defendants hear the formal accusations before a judge — and were due back in court in Stockton on Wednesday.
Courts in Pulaski County see the same charge stack when a property investigation turns into a narcotics case: the theft count brings deputies to the door, and the drugs, cash and guns found inside set the bail and the plea math.
