Two students died and two others were seriously injured in a Batesville vehicle wreck, Arkansas State Police reported. The crash took place on State Highway 394 on Monday afternoon.

The incident occurred just after 4:40 p.m. An agency report described the sequence of the wreck.

The vehicle driver veered off the road. The car then hit a driveway access. It lifted completely off the ground.

The car then struck a second driveway. The vehicle overturned after the impact.

Officials said the road was dry. The weather was clear at the time.

Three of the four students attended Batesville High School. The two deceased victims went to that school. The fourth occupant attends Cave City High School.

State troopers compile fatal crash summaries to record scene evidence. Batesville sits in north-central Arkansas. The highway connects local drivers to nearby towns.

No further updates were provided on the injured students.
