Three youth football coaches banned after Cabot game fight
The Arkansas Premier Youth Football League issued permanent bans to three people in Cabot. The penalties bar them from future participation in all league events. Officials made the decision following an altercation at a sixth-grade game.
The fight began during the traditional post-game handshake line. Someone recorded video of the altercation. That footage circulated on social media platforms.
One youth football coach represented Cabot. Two other youth football coaches came from Greenbrier. The Arkansas Premier Youth Football League Board of Directors announced the action in an official statement.
The board called the confrontation an embarrassment. Leaders described the event as “unacceptable, deeply troubling, and an embarrassment” to the organization and its member programs.
Board members strongly condemned the conduct seen on the field. They noted strict rules against hostile actions during youth sports competitions.
“Physical violence, verbal abuse, intimidation, and unsportsmanlike conduct have absolutely no place in youth athletics and will not be tolerated within our league,” the statement said.
Youth athletic leagues oversee local team schedules, coach conduct rules and safety guidelines for community games. Member programs follow league boards during post-game reviews. Sanctions usually take effect right away across all participating member cities.
League officials in Cabot reaffirmed their commitment to safe, positive spaces for young athletes. The board pledged to maintain its standards of sportsmanship.
