Simmons Bank Championship returns to Little Rock for third year
Professional golfers are returning to Little Rock as Pleasant Valley Country Club hosts the Simmons Bank Championship. The event marks the third year for the tournament in Central Arkansas.
Defending champion Steven Alker is in the field. He currently sits third in the Charles Schwab Cup standings. Alker holds two victories this season. He has four straight top-five finishes in his last four starts.
Current Charles Schwab Cup leader Stewart Cink will also compete in Little Rock. Cink won the 2025 Charles Schwab Cup. He finished fourth at the tournament last year.
Tournament organizers say the course conditions appeal to the players. Chris Mayes is the director of golf at Pleasant Valley Country Club.
“You know, they’re happy they get to shoot low scores. When you have good greens and the ball rolls through and smooth, and you can get the putt online, it makes it a little more fun for them.”
Mayes said the course stayed in good shape for the past two events. Organizers worked hard to improve the experience this year. Mayes noted the focus remains on fans, players and caddies.
Pleasant Valley Country Club serves as a private golf venue in Little Rock. Golf tournaments routinely host multi-day competitions alongside preliminary kickoff activities for spectators.
The event runs from October 30th to November 1st at Pleasant Valley Country Club. Kickoff events take place earlier in the week.
