District 1 Race in Tulsa Comes Down to a Monday-Night Forum

Comments 0 Kendra Hollis 1 min read

The District 1 city council race in Tulsa gets a public airing on Monday night, when incumbent Vanessa Hall-Harper and challenger Corinice Wilson speak at a forum organised by Northside Neighbors.

The event takes place at the 36th Street Event Center from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., and people can register to attend. It gives residents a chance to question the candidates directly and hear their plans before the Nov. 3 election.

Tulsa elects council members by district, and those members pass local ordinances and approve municipal budgets. A neighbourhood forum is often where the practical questions — the ones about a specific street or service — actually get asked.

Little Rock voters, who watch their own Board of Directors races turn on the same neighbourhood issues, will recognise the stakes. Northside Neighbors is urging District 1 residents to show up informed on Election Day.
